The plot of the movie revolves around Spencer Olham (Gary Sinise), who is an engineer working for an elite group of scientists who are trying to create a weapon that will help them defeat an alien race that has been invading Earth. However, things take a turn when Spencer finds out he’s being accused of being an alien impostor himself.
The first thing that draws you in is the plot. It’s one of those stories that makes you think. Are we really alone in this universe? If aliens wanted to invade Earth, would they do so openly or by infiltrating our society? Impostor plays on these questions and creates a world where nothing is as it seems.
The cast of Impostor is excellent. Gary Sinise does an amazing job playing Spencer Olham, who is trying to clear his name while also staying alive. Madeleine Stowe plays his wife, Maya Olham, who stands by him even when the evidence seems stacked against him.
The special effects are what really bring this movie to life. The futuristic world created by the filmmakers really immerses you into the story. From the futuristic guns to flying vehicles, everything feels real and believable.
One of my favorite scenes in the movie takes place when Spencer goes outside during a curfew with some other characters in order to search for evidence that he’s not an alien impostor himself. It’s a tense scene that keeps you on edge wondering if they’ll be caught by security forces enforcing martial law.
Another great thing about Impostor is the soundtrack. The music really adds to the overall atmosphere and helps to build tension in key scenes. It’s not often that you find a movie that has such a well-crafted score.
